Tinking along…1

2 bodice pieces + 1 sleeve = DONE!
1 sleeve + seaming + collar + possible flowers = not yet done.

here’s to tinking along and making it through the last leg of a journey that will be my very first sweater!

progress shot:

notice my little chart cheat sheet… marking things off as you go along is a great way to make sure that you don’t repeat extra rows by accident. it’s a pain in the arse at times, but better to be safe than to be sorry.

in other news, i have come across something interesting… while my cats do not seem to enjoy eating the plants that i’ve planted for them (like the catmint, the catnip, and the cat grass mix), they do like chewing on my orchids! i guess there’s something to be said about liking pretty things…

tyson sniffing the pretty pink orchid:

tyson up to go and get it, and salivating at the thought of a yummy flower:

good thing i caught him in the act and moved the plant to another table for the time being.

one WIP pic2

yay, i found the digicam, and managed to get a shot of one of my WIPs!

may I present to you… one body piece and one sleeve of the McQueen Knockoff Sweater. I am still undecided about making up the flowers, but the cabling is quite fun and easy to do!

Don’t mind Miss Tyra… she’s just claiming the yarn as her own again:

If you like the pattern and want to join a knitalong, i’ve started one on craftster.

Floggin’ the bad bloggin’1

Sorry that I haven’t written in a while.
The fact that I’ve been apathetic towards my blog can be attributed to my inability to focus on one particular knitting project. I still have knitting-ADD, and without any FOs to show, my blog suffers. I wish I had some other witty thoughts or ramblings to share with you, but I personally don’t think that anything is interesting enough.

Until today.

Indeed, this is quite a small world. I didn’t even realize what a small community this knit-blog world is until today. While reading the new issue of Knitty, and reading the articles for the first time, I came across one that was written by an old coworker! She was a copywriter, I was a designer/HTML guru. One of the NYC gals ended up in a city by the bay. The other ended up on a farm in Michigan. I never thought that our paths would in cyberspace… here’s her wonderfully written article and blog. So whoever reads my boring blog, please visit Shannah’s… it’s a ton more interesting, especially since she has two llamas on her farm!
