Happy feet!1

So it’s been quite gloomy here in the Bay Area. Rainy. Chilly. Cold & Clammy. Perfect timing though… b/c now I finally have a pair of handknit socks to wear! Yay for warm & pretty socks!

Pastel Jaywalkers
  • Awesome pattern from Grumperina
  • I opted for the toe-up modification posted here
  • Other mods: made ‘em knee-high by adding a few more increases on the way up
  • Yarn: 2 balls of Regia sock yarn in some pastel colorway w/ a bit of Knit Picks’ Bare superwash/nylon
  • Needles: sizes 0 & 1 metal dpns

In other news, I am back on the road again starting tomorrow. Hopefully this trip will yield some nice pix, since the ones of LA are always boring. I will miss the purly brats though… they’ve been so cute & cuddly lately because of the cold (and yes, that is my crocheted scarf underneath them! what spoiled brat cats!)

Return to the Knitting2

Yes, I am back to knitting up a storm. My methodology for getting back into the swing of things was to start with a few small and quick knits… and it totally worked! I am on my way to finishing my
Pastel Socks, and will definitely post pictures when they are all done :)

So here are the quick bits that helped to sway me back to the knitting realm.

Modular Coaster
  • Pattern from Knitty Gritty’s It’s So Mod episode
  • Sugar n Cream 100% cotton yarn
  • Size 5 straight Clover bamboo needles
  • To be used as: a mini-scrubber washcloth

Feline Wonton

  • Wonton from Dim Sum in Knitty’s Spring 2003 edition
  • Sugar n Cream 100% cotton yarn
  • The same size 5 straight Clover bamboo needles as above
  • For: the purly brat cats of course :)

Stay tuned for the final picture of my first pair of socks!
